Taro Aso Stalls On Election, Hopes Nobody Notices.

Look at you, with your big-people suit!

Oh Tiny Taro!

Our favorite world leader has been pressured to resign for quite some time.  We discussed him at length when he was shunned for lunch during a recent meeting with President Obama.  But now?

Things are much worse.

Political rivals and even friends of Tiny T are asking him to call an election within the next few weeks.  He has adamantly refused the call and has instead insisted that he inject the Japanese economy with a stimulus plan similar to the one the Obama administration has begun.

And even though he’s sitting on a single-digit approval rating, the world doesn’t seem to mind.  The Pope has indicated that he would meet Tiny T, at his request when he visits Japan in July.  July?  Really?  I know the Pope’s a little old but there’s no way Tiny T is hanging on to power with his wee little fingers until then.

Our prediction is that Taro Aso launches the political rhetoric for the next couple of weeks.  He’ll say he needs to fix the economy before he worries the Japanese with another election.  Until Aso gets an approval rating of minus 95%, there’s no way he’s leaving.  A former rival mentioned that she didn’t think Tiny T would ever quit because, “he’s very confident in himself.”

And that’s why we love him.
